The characteristic and model of data is about the 3 V’s which is volume, velocity and variety. The volume is about collection of the numbers in data scale and still increase every day.

Next, velocity in refer to the timeframe or timelessness in big data, specific data collection and analysis processes must be really focused to gain the value into maximum range. Lastly, the variety means other types of data in the internet which is structured and unstructured data such as text, video, audio, and other traditional data (CRM, ERP, SCM) Zulkarnain & Anshari (2016).

Why it different from another traditional data?

Softserve (n.d.) has explained the differentiation of traditional data (BI) vs big data. Here are a simple figure that provide by Softserve (n.d.) to understand the concept of the different aspect.
